Artur Arsoev

Artur Arsoev was a promising young Russian composer whose life was cut tragically short in 2005, at the age of 27. He was born in St. Petersburg in 1978 and received his formal music training at the Gnessin Music College, studying piano with Professor I. Naumova, and then at the Moscow Conservatory, studying composition with Professor T. Khrennikov. He composed works in various genres and mediums, including songs, chamber works, symphonic works, music for film, and electro-acoustic music; he became a member of the Russian Composers' Union in 2004. In many of his works, Artur incorporated indigenous musical features of the Ossetian tradition (Northern Caucusus regions of Russia and Georgia) of his family heritage - including the works Heavenly Mirror, Bells, and Nostalgia, all featured here at the Classical Archives.
